Classroom guidelines.

Classroom Guidelines:
Spanish Class will be taught in Spanish 90% of the time. This requires total attention from the students. In order to keep students from distractions they are required to:

1.     Come to class on time.

2.     Remain seated and must stand up respectfully with the teachers’ authorization.

3.     Student will be on task by having all materials ready as they walk into the classroom (pencil, paper, book, binder)

4.     PARTICIPATE IN CLASS! By raising your hand and waiting your turn to talk.

5.     Student will be considerate of others by respecting them, their property, and their time in class.

6.     Students should NOT USE or display CELL Phones during class.

PLEASE MAKE SURE THEY ARE TURNED OFF AND NOT VISIBLE IN CLASS.

If I see a student using the phone, I will collect the phones and return them at the end of class and if the same

behavior continues a disciplinary detention will be assigned, hoping not to have the need of a disciplinary referral.

The teacher will announce in advance Classroom instructional activities that need cell phone (ONLY).

PARENTS PLEASE DO NOT TEXT OR CALL YOUR STUDENTS DURING CLASS, SHOULD YOU HAVE

AN EMERGENCY CONTACT THE FRONT OFFICE.

Other Policies:

·       Students must always keep a respectful and low tone voice during class.

·       Maintain a clean, safe classroom/school environment.

·       NO FOOD OR DRINKS in class (except water), you may NOT eat during class time.

·       Only during the First 5 minutes before starting class, students may eat a snack quietly and quickly clean up (If late, you lose the privilege).

Consequences:

First Offense:             Student-teacher conference at the end of class.

Second Offense:          Parents are called and notified about student’s behavior. Detention is assigned.

Third Offense:            An administrative referral is written, and the student is sent to the office.

Fourth Offense:          Conference with parent and student.

(Failure to work off the above penalties moves the student to the next level of consequences.)
